Job description

Plant Machinery Fitter Required

Location: Wellingborough, Northamptonshire

Salary: £36,000 starting salary - negotiable DOE

Type: Full-time, permanent position

We are seeking an experienced Plant Machinery Fitter to join our client, a company that hires plant equipment to the construction and agriculture industries. You will be part of a well-established company, responsible for maintaining plant hire equipment and machinery ranging from small air compressors to dumper trucks and excavators. The role involves working at the local branch and on-site at customer premises, requiring a full driving licence due to travel requirements.

Responsibilities
  1. To repair, service, and inspect plant equipment and machinery both on customer sites and within the depot.
  2. Service, repair, and locate faults within equipment, following manufacturers' recommendations and guidelines.
  3. Follow company procedures and guidelines to ensure compliance with ISO9001 quality standards.
  4. Carry out PUWER (Provision & Use of Work Equipment Regulations) & LOLER (Lifting Operations and Lifting Equipment Regulations).
Experience and Attributes
  • At least five years of experience working as a plant machine fitter.
  • Knowledge of brands such as JCB, John Deere, Hamm, and Doosan.
  • Strong understanding of engineering, hydraulic, and electrical systems.
  • Qualification in plant maintenance and repair, or electrical and mechanical qualifications.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently or within a small team.
  • A full UK driving licence.
