Job Description:

A vacancy has arisen for a Plant Machinery Cleaner to join our team within our operations at the Port of Tyne, focusing on cleaning biomass handling & storage facilities.

The Plant Machinery Cleaner will undertake industrial cleaning of plant and equipment using hoses for washing and compressed air for blow down.

Hargreaves Industrial Services provides operations and cleaning services at the Port of Tyne Biomass handling facility, managing the safe movement and handling of biomass following vessel discharge and the dispatch of loaded rail wagons.

Key Duties:

• Wash and blow down cleaning of operational plant and equipment
• Maintain cleanliness standards in the work area
• Record cleaning tasks on VEHOCHECK for compliance
• Follow Safe Working Procedures
• Attend meetings or training as required
• Perform other related cleaning duties as assigned by the Manager

The ideal candidate will be a good communicator with a strong understanding of health & safety in the workplace. They may also support secondary roles within the operation, such as:

• General industrial cleaning of operational areas
• Train loading/watchman duties
• FEL operations
• Hopper operations
• Biomass material condition monitoring

Required Skills and Qualifications:

• IOSHH working safely (training provided)
• Experience in industrial cleaning within materials handling environments
• Experience in biomass handling (desirable)
• Experience with fixed and portable vacuum systems
• COMPEX training (desirable, training provided)
• Positive attitude towards safety
• Work at Height using MEWP
• Ability to perform heavy manual labour
• Good communication skills at all levels
• Flexible approach and team-oriented mindset
• Ability to work independently and proactively
• Good time management and willingness to work overtime
• Ability to share knowledge and keep documented records
