Job summary

Contechs Consulting is seeking a Plant IT CIM Engineer on a contract basis at our client’s large engine manufacturing site in Dagenham, Essex. You will lead operation of Plant Floor System applications and act as SME for several PFS apps, providing production support and driving improvements.

You will collaborate with in-plant teams and the global IT organisation, manage critical incidents, support infrastructure projects, and help embed best IT processes and security controls.

Qualifications

• Degree in IT or related subject.
• 5+ years software delivery and production support experience.
• Experience in manufacturing/plant environments preferred.

Responsibilities

• Lead operation of Plant Floor System (PFS) apps at the engine facility.
• Be SME for several PFS apps and provide production support and improvements.
• Lead escalation/resolution of critical incidents with in-plant teams and global IT.
• Support infrastructure and application project implementations.
• Create and follow best IT processes, tools, and standards.
• Ensure IT processes usage and perform security checks.

Position Title: Plant IT CIM Engineer

Duration: Contract

Location: Dagenham, Essex

Division: Information Technology

Position Description:

• Plant IT CIM Engineer, lead the seamless operation of PFS (Plant Floor System) applications at our Clients' largest engine manufacturing facility
• Become the subject matter expert (SME) for several PFS applications and utilise that knowledge to provide production support, and new ideas and solutions
• Lead the escalation and resolution of critical incidents/issues, working and collaborating with in-plant customers, other in Plant IT and our global IT organisation, and suppliers
• Support the implementation of infrastructure and application projects
• Create, understand and use best-in-class IT processes, tools, methodologies and standards
• Ensure appropriate use of the Clients' IT processes, tools, methodologies and standards, participate in application/system administration, ensure appropriate security checks and controls are followed

Skills Required:

• Software delivery (5 years+)
• Support, configuration and deployment of production environment applications i.e. the app stops, the business stops (5 years+)
• Systems administration, including planned upgrades and patches
• A proven ability from past roles to prioritize workloads and multitask
• Flexibility to occasionally work outside normal hours or on weekends if required
• Ensure audit requirements are met as described in the Clients' Master Audit Schedule
• Create and maintain documentation for supporting the plant

Skills Preferred:

• Experience of working within a manufacturing/plant environment
• Flexible with a positive, can-do attitude and willingness to support broader business needs as required

Experience Required:

• A proven ability from past roles to prioritize workloads and multitask
• Effective communicator with the ability to build relationships across various internal/external departments as well as suppliers
• Proven experience of configuring applications for local usage
• Ability to demonstrate agile working and adaptability

Education Required:

• A degree or equivalent in an IT or related subject

Education Preferred:

• Or appropriate experience/ skills you believe are relevant

Additional Information :

• On-site, 5 days + occasional weekend work
• Looking for an early August start date ideally
