Job summary

Holt Recruitment is working on behalf of a successful family-run asphalt company near Witham, seeking a Plant / HGV Engineer. This workshop-based role covers maintenance of plant, HGVs and asphalt equipment, including servicing, repairs, fault-finding and welding when required.

You’ll join a hands-on team with a varied workload and a long-term opportunity in a stable family-run business.

Qualifications

• Previous experience working on plant, HGVs or similar heavy equipment.
• Strong mechanical knowledge and practical repair skills.
• Welding/fabrication experience would be highly beneficial.
• HGV Licence desirable but not essential.
• A reliable, hands-on engineer who enjoys working on a variety of equipment.

Responsibilities

• Primarily workshop-based, maintaining a varied range of plant, HGVs and equipment.
• Routine servicing, maintenance and mechanical repairs.
• Fault-finding and diagnostics.
• Welding and fabrication work.
• Occasional work outside of the workshop when required.
• Supporting the day-to-day running and reliability of the company’s fleet.

Plant / HGV Engineer

Witham Area - Salary from £20+ per hour DOE - Workshop-Based - Family-Run Business

Holt Recruitment is working on behalf of a successful family‑run asphalt company who are looking to add an experienced Plant / HGV Engineer to their team.

This is a genuinely varied, hands‑on role which is primarily workshop based, working across a range of plant machinery, HGVs and associated asphalt equipment. You’ll be responsible for keeping machinery and vehicles maintained, carrying out repairs and fault‑finding, as well as getting involved with welding and fabrication when required.

The Role:

• Primarily workshop-based, maintaining a varied range of plant, HGVs and equipment
• Routine servicing, maintenance and mechanical repairs
• Fault-finding and diagnostics
• Welding and fabrication work
• Working on a variety of machinery and equipment, making this a genuinely varied role
