Job summary

Amcor Blackburn seeks a proven manufacturing leader to take full responsibility for the site’s performance, safety culture, and financial results. You will lead a diverse team, drive continuous improvement, and align strategy with the UK business goals while delivering exceptional operational outcomes.

Reporting to the BMS UKI General Manager, you will shape the site’s future, champion safety, and enable sustainable growth across a global manufacturing business with a strong focus on stakeholder

Reporting directly to the BMS UKI General Manager, you will have full accountability for plant performance across safety, people, operations, quality, customer satisfaction, and financial results. Leading the Site

You'll provide inspirational leadership across all aspects of plant performance, ensuring the business consistently delivers against safety, service, quality, productivity, and financial targets.

Key areas include:

  • Creating and executing the site strategy in line with UK business goals.
  • Driving a high-performance culture centred on accountability and teamwork.
  • Leading and developing a cross-functional leadership team.
  • Delivering exceptional operational and customer outcomes.
Driving Operational Excellence

You'll lead a complex manufacturing operation and continuously raise performance standards by:

  • Optimising productivity, efficiency, and asset utilisation.
  • Delivering operational excellence and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Supporting transformation projects that strengthen competitiveness and growth.
Creating a World-Class Safety Culture

You will:

  • Lead from the front on Health, Safety and Environmental performance.

What We're Looking For

We're seeking a proven manufacturing leader with experience managing large-scale operations and delivering measurable business results.

  • Significant leadership experience within manufacturing, operations, or site management environments.
  • Experience leading large, multidisciplinary teams through growth and change.
  • Strong financial acumen with P&L responsibility.
  • Track record of improving operational performance, productivity, and profitability.
  • Strong understanding of manufacturing, quality, supply chain, and customer requirements.
  • Demonstrated success in driving a positive safety culture.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
  • Data-driven, commercially minded decision maker.
  • Degree in Engineering, Manufacturing, Operations Management, or a related discipline.
  • Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, Kaizen or Operational Excellence experience.
  • Experience leading organisational change and transformation programmes.
