Job summary

W M Donald Ltd is seeking a Plant & Fleet Mechanic for our workshop in Netherley. You will service and repair plant, equipment and fleet vehicles to ensure safety, reliability and availability.

The role requires a formal vehicle/plant repair qualification and a minimum of five years’ experience in a similar role, with strong diagnostic and problem-solving skills. You will work across sites as required, undertake scheduled maintenance and maintain documentation in line with company procedures.

Qualifications

• Formal qualification in vehicle and/or plant repair.
• Minimum 5 years’ experience in a similar role.
• Strong diagnostic and repair capabilities.
• Knowledge of hydraulics, electrics; fabrication/welding is advantageous.
• Good written and oral communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Service and repair company plant, fleet vehicles and equipment.
• Carry out preventative, planned and routine maintenance.
• Diagnose and repair fleet & equipment faults with minimal supervision.
• Ensure plant, fleet vehicles and equipment are fully serviceable and fit for purpose.
• Maintain servicing programmes and ensure scheduled maintenance is completed.
• Complete all relevant maintenance paperwork and documentation.
• Attend operational sites where necessary to undertake repairs and maintenance.
• Work in accordance with risk assessments, safety procedures and legislation.
