Job summary

Ernest Gordon Recruitment in Northampton is seeking a Plant Fitter (Mechanical) to join a specialist lifting equipment company, with training provided on the electrical skillset and opportunities to work across yard and client sites.

You will perform preventative maintenance, fault finding and repairs, while supporting both workshop and customer sites and pursuing an NVQ Level 3 in Plant Maintenance. The role emphasizes safety, quality, and on-time equipment readiness.

Qualifications

• Experience in HGV, Heavy Plant or agricultural machinery maintenance.
• Some mechanical experience is required.

Responsibilities

• Carry out routine servicing and preventative maintenance on plant equipment.
• Diagnose and repair mechanical and electrical faults both in the yard and on customer sites.
• Ensure all maintenance activities are completed in line with ISO and Health & Safety standards.
• Prepare equipment to the highest standard before it leaves the depot.
• Provide technical support to engineers, office staff and customers when required.
• Manage stock levels and identify parts requirements.
