Overtime paid at time and a half | Door-to-door pay

Are you a hands-on engineer with strong electrical skills and a knack for diagnostics? Want to work with cutting-edge machinery while being part of a forward-thinking, collaborative team? This could be the opportunity for you.
We're looking for a Service Engineer who thrives on problem-solving, takes pride in quality workmanship, and enjoys the variety of working both on-site and in-house. If you have experience with PLC systems and CANbus diagnostics, even better. But most importantly, we're after someone with the right mindset and skill set to hit the ground running.
What You'll Be Doing:

  • Carrying out planned maintenance and fault-finding on high-spec industrial equipment
  • Working with PLC-controlled systems and remote diagnostics
  • Performing repairs, remedial works, and supporting R&D tasks
  • Collaborating with a nationwide team while managing your own workload
  • Travelling across the UK, with occasional nights away and potential training in Germany
What We're Looking For:
  • A solid background in electrical and mechanical engineering (min. 3 years)
  • An electrical bias or a general interest in electrics, with some knowledge of DC voltage and diagnostic ability
  • Strong diagnostic experience, especially with PLCs and electrical systems
  • Ideally, exposure to CANbus systems and remote-control diagnostics
  • An apprenticeship or equivalent formal qualification (City & Guilds, NVQ, etc.)
  • Someone self-motivated, safety-conscious, and comfortable working independently
Why You'll Love This Role:
  • Starting salary of £42,000 with a pay rise to £44,000 after probation (6 months)
  • Hourly rate equivalent: £16.15/hr rising to £16.92/hr
  • Overtime paid at 1.5x – plus door-to-door travel is paid!
  • Work with industry-leading equipment in a varied and rewarding role
  • Be part of a growing and supportive engineering team with development opportunities
We would require someone to live within 2 hours radius of St Neots, Cambridgeshire. If this sounds like the next step in your engineering career, we'd love to hear from you.
