Job summary

Monks Contractors is looking for two experienced Plant Fitters/Plant Engineers to join our team. These roles are workshop and site-based, starting ASAP, with competitive pay and a company van provided.

You will diagnose faults, service and repair heavy plant machinery, work with hydraulic, mechanical and electrical systems, and keep accurate maintenance records. On-site travel may be required, and overtime is paid at 1.5x after 40 hours.

Qualifications

• Experience as a Plant Fitter, Plant Mechanic or Plant Engineer.
• A recognised qualification such as City & Guilds or NVQ.
• Good mechanical knowledge and fault-finding skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Responsibilities

• Find and fix mechanical, hydraulic and electrical faults.
• Service, maintain and repair plant machinery and equipment.
• Work in the Mellor Brook workshop and travel to sites when needed.
• Carry out machinery inspections and spot problems early.
• Take ownership of repairs from diagnosis to running order.
• Keep accurate maintenance records and follow safety practices.
