Plant Fitter

required at FM Conway!

We are now looking to recruit a self-motivated and proactive individual to ensure all required maintenance duties are carried out, including preventative maintenance, attending to breakdowns, and executing mechanical repairs, fabrication, welding, and maintaining very high housekeeping standards by clearing blockages and cleaning up. This full-time permanent role will be based at our Newhaven Depot.

The duties of the Plant Fitter will include:

1. Ensuring that all aspects of the Asphalt and Mobile Plant maintenance are carried out in accordance with the requirements of all statutory legislation and the FM Conway Health and Safety, Environmental and Quality Policies.
2. Operating, producing, and reviewing risk assessments, method statements, permits to work, and procedures for maintenance tasks.
3. Ensuring that all plant and equipment are subject to planned preventative maintenance schemes and inspections.
4. Keeping the site in a safe and worthy condition to work safely, and to optimize plant availability and efficiency within operational budgets.
5. Operating in a collaborative manner with all operations personnel as required and encouraging continuous improvement.
6. Traveling to and supporting other sites with maintenance in the event of breakdowns or planned maintenance shutdowns.

What skills and experience do you need?

To be considered for this role, you must be a qualified Plant Fitter with experience in mechanical repair skills. Burning, welding, and fabrication skills will also be needed.
