Job description

Overview

Interaction Technical has partnered with a well-established national plant hire firm to support the growth of their team. Our client, with over 50 years of experience, is looking to onboard and train engineers from plant, HGV, automotive, or agricultural backgrounds. They offer comprehensive training schemes and internal progression routes.

The package includes:

• 22 days of annual leave plus public holidays, increasing by 1 day per year of service (up to 25 days)
• Overtime pay at 1.5x (£21-£24 per hour) for hours over 8 per day
• Salary sacrifice scheme for an additional 5 days of annual leave
• Full training and development with internal progression: Workshop/Mobile Engineer > Lead Engineer > Hiring Manager > Site Manager > Regional Manager

The responsibilities include:

• Travel to client sites to perform maintenance and repair of plant machinery and equipment
• Diagnose complex technical issues and troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic systems
• Collaborate with clients to understand requirements and provide recommendations
• Conduct routine inspections and preventive maintenance
• Provide training and support to clients’ staff on machinery operation and maintenance
• Maintain detailed records of service activities, parts used, and work completed
• Communicate effectively with the in-house engineering team for feedback and improvements

The requirements:

• Experience in the plant, automotive, HGV, or agricultural industry (essential)
• Experience working with hydraulics, mechanical, and electrical systems (essential)
• Experience with engines is advantageous
• Fault finding, repair, and service experience in electrical and/or mechanical systems
• A desire to lead, manage, and grow a team
• Relevant qualifications such as NVQ or City and Guilds in mechanical/electrical engineering (advantageous)
• Full UK driver’s license
