Job Title: Plant Fitter/HGV Fitter

Location: Kelvedon, Colchester

Salary: £21+ per hour – £50K+ annually

Shift Type: Day Shift

Our client, a well-established and reputable asphalt company, is looking for a talented Plant Technician / Plant Fitter / HGV Mechanic / HGV Technician to join their team. If you have experience with Plant & HGV machinery, this could be the perfect role for you. The company operates a variety of asphalt and road machinery, including spray tankers, rollers, and HGV attachments. They also fabricate and modify machinery for different purposes, so fabrication experience or interest is a plus.

Key Responsibilities:

• Routine Maintenance: Conduct regular inspections, servicing, and maintenance of road repair machinery such as rollers, spray tankers, and various HGVs.
• Diagnosis and Repairs: Diagnose and repair mechanical and electrical faults efficiently and accurately.
• Quality Control: Ensure all work is completed to high standards, adhering to industry best practices and safety regulations.
• Documentation: Keep accurate records of all work performed, parts used, and hours worked.
• Customer Service: Provide excellent customer service by addressing inquiries, explaining repairs, and offering maintenance advice.
• Team Collaboration: Work effectively with colleagues and other departments to ensure smooth workflow and customer satisfaction.

Requirements:

• Technician Qualification: Relevant qualification or apprenticeship in vehicle maintenance and repair.
• Experience: Proven experience as a Plant Technician / Plant Fitter / HGV Mechanic / HGV Technician, with strong diagnostic and repair skills.
• Technical Skills: Proficiency with diagnostic tools and a solid understanding of vehicle systems.
• Tools and Equipment: Must supply your own tools relevant to the role.
• Attention to Detail: Keen eye for quality and accuracy.
• Team Player: Good interpersonal and communication skills.
