Job Title: Plant Financial Controller
Location: Birmingham
Salary: £60,000 - £70,000

Job Description:
The Plant Financial Controller plays a pivotal role in providing financial leadership and guidance to operations, ensuring the attainment of growth targets. This role involves comprehensive responsibilities such as ensuring compliance with US GAAP and SOX controls, cost accounting, variance analysis administration, monthly close process supervision, budget preparation, financial forecast development, capital spend analysis, and assisting with divisional reporting and analysis under the direction of the Global Finance Controller.

Main Duties & Responsibilities:

1. Participate in the preparation and review of the annual plant budget.
2. Recommend and implement improvements related to financial reporting aspects.
3. Prepare weekly/monthly reporting for plant financial reviews.
4. Analyse business trends and provide guidance for future.
5. Evaluate plant activities' performance to achieve growth targets.
6. Assist management and executives in achieving business objectives.
7. Assist Global Controller Finance with divisional reporting and analysis.

Cost Accounting, Financial Planning, Reporting, and Analysis:

1. Coordinate and implement the monthly closing process, including variance analysis.
2. Assist in the preparation, evaluation, and review of capital projects.
3. Prepare monthly financial reviews, forecasts, and annual financial plans.
4. Perform financial evaluations/discounted cash flow analysis.
5. Manage and improve cash flow and working capital metrics.
6. Develop standard costs for production.
7. Monitor ledger reconciliations.
8. Collaborate with MTI’s shared services team for accurate and timely reporting.
9. Actively participate in the implementation of sustainable improvement processes.

Qualifications/Requirements:

1. CIMA, ACA, or ACCA qualified.
2. Sox/GAAP experience.
3. Experience with Oracle and ESSBASE is a plus.
4. Minimum 5 years post-qualified experience in manufacturing or plant-based accounting/controller role.
5. Financial systems experience such as Hyperion/HFM.
6. Hands-on Financial Controller experience working in a manufacturing plant.
