Job summary

Path Recruitment is seeking a Plant Engineer for nationwide projects across rail, utilities and industrial sectors. The role involves servicing, inspecting, fault-finding and repairs on specialist plant equipment used on major infrastructure projects.

The successful candidate will perform preventative maintenance, travel nationwide when required, and ensure compliance with LOLER/PUWER while upholding high safety standards. Training and long-term career prospects are offered.

Qualifications

  • Experience as a Plant Engineer or maintaining heavy plant or specialist machinery.
  • Strong hydraulic, mechanical and electrical fault-finding skills.
  • Proactive maintenance mindset and problem-solving ability.
  • Hold a full UK driving licence and be willing to travel.

Responsibilities

  • Diagnosing mechanical, hydraulic and electrical faults.
  • Completing preventative maintenance schedules.
  • Carrying out breakdown repairs in the workshop and on customer sites.
  • Ensuring equipment meets LOLER and PUWER requirements.
  • Recording completed work accurately.
  • Maintaining high health and safety standards.
  • Travelling nationwide to support operations.

About the Role

As a Plant Engineer, you will carry out planned servicing, inspections, fault finding and repairs on a wide range of specialist plant equipment used on major infrastructure projects.

Your responsibilities will include:
  • Diagnosing mechanical, hydraulic and electrical faults
  • Completing preventative maintenance schedules
  • Carrying out breakdown repairs both in the workshop and on customer sites
  • Ensuring equipment meets LOLER and PUWER requirements
  • Recording completed work accurately
  • Maintaining excellent health and safety standards
  • Travelling nationwide when required to support customer operations
