Job summary

Tropic Biosciences in Norwich, UK, is seeking a talented scientist to join the Technology Development team to advance crop biotechnology through high-quality experimental science. You will contribute to molecular biology, gene editing, and assay development to support Tropic’s programmes and real-world impact.

You will lead experimental design, generate data, and communicate results to shape project direction, with a focus on protoplast assays, regeneration, and plant biology.

Qualifications

• PhD in molecular biology, cell biology, plant biotechnology or related field.
• Strong expertise in protoplast editing and plant regeneration.
• Ability to design and execute complex laboratory experiments.

Responsibilities

• Design and deliver laboratory experiments with rigour and creativity.
• Plan experiments, manage risk and interpret results for project decisions.
• Identify new methods and technologies to support innovation.
• Maintain accurate records and contribute high-quality data.
