Job description

Igne is looking for a Plant and Equipment Operative to join our team, based at our yard in Rochester, Kent. The ideal candidate will have experience in equipment store operations and inventory management. You will play a key role in supporting the Operations department with the storage, maintenance, and deployment of equipment across the region. Attention to detail and the ability to accurately record information are essential for this role.

This is a full-time position, which includes regional travel to drop off and collect specialist equipment. A full, clean UK driving license is required. Training will be provided to the successful candidate

We are Igne Group Limited, a synergetic amalgamation of six companies, renowned within our respective fields, with over 350 years of combined experience. A one-stop-shop for pre- and post-construction services. Igne s six service categories are: site investigation, testing, unexploded ordnance, water wells, geothermal, and geo-environmental.

Key Responsibilities

  • Storage and upkeep of all equipment returned from projects, within a logical process
  • Ensure accurate inventory records & oversee movement of equipment
  • Upkeep of relevant equipment schedules
  • Report any defects to the relevant parties as required for repair
  • Organise equipment in storage areas, optimising space and maintain a well-organised environment. Keep store area tidy, organised and free from hazards
  • Complete necessary paperwork & reports

Person Specification

Essential:

  • Knowledge of equipment storage processes
  • Full UK driving licence
  • Inventory management experience
  • Excellent MS Office skills (Word, Excel, Outlook)
  • Good problem solving skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team

Desirable

  • Co-ordinating maintenance and repairs for equipment
  • Experience with assets management software
