Pertemps Birmingham Commercial is seeking a Validation Planning Technician to join a busy Professional Services team in Birmingham. The role is office-based, with no site visits, and offers a temporary-to-permanent pathway.

You will validate planning submissions to meet local and national criteria, ensuring timely acknowledgments and accurate records. The position emphasizes attention to detail and a methodical approach, with comprehensive training and ongoing support to develop in planning

Qualifications

• Previous exposure to planning, validation, administration, or a similar office-based environment.
• Ability to read and understand basic site plans and supporting documentation.
• Good working knowledge of Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel, and Outlook.
• Strong organisational skills and attention to detail.
• Ability to work accurately in a target driven environment.

Responsibilities

• Validate planning applications within 24-48 hour turnaround targets.
• Review submissions against national and local validation requirements.
• Assess documents for accuracy and completeness.
• Liaise with applicants and stakeholders to request amendments or information.
• Process additional and amended documentation for live applications.
• Assist with identifying statutory consultation requirements.
• Register and allocate planning applications per internal procedures.
• Carry out basic GIS and mapping checks.
• Maintain records and update planning systems.
• Respond to validation queries professionally.
