A local government council in Morpeth is seeking a professional to support Development Management services. You will assist with minor planning applications and undertake site visits. The ideal candidate will have a planning degree, excellent communication skills, and a proactive problem-solving approach. The role is to support colleagues and senior professional and managerial staff in the provision of Development Management services, by providing technical expertise and assisting in the processing and appraisal of minor planning applications, tree applications, and pre-application enquiries. You will undertake a range of functions related to the processing of planning applications, including site visits, evidence collection, assessment of proposals, and preparation for planning appeals.
You will be required to travel to development sites and other work areas, so you must meet the transport requirements of this post. The position is based at County Hall, Morpeth, with flexible working arrangements including home working.
