A local government authority in Macclesfield is seeking a Planning Technician to validate planning applications and support the Planning service. This full-time role involves hybrid working with the requirement to attend the office at least two days a week. Candidates should have 2 A levels or equivalent experience, strong computer skills, and be passionate about service improvement. The position offers 34 days of annual leave and various employee benefits.
A fantastic opportunity has arisen to join our Planning Validation Technicians team. You will support the Planning service in validating planning applications and other functions, as well as guiding customers to ensure the service meets statutory obligations.
The postholder will be expected to attend our offices at least two days a week, with the possibility of home working on other days after comprehensive training.

Join our team as a Planning Technician, supporting our Business Support operations by validating planning applications and supporting service functions. You will monitor performance, adapt to legislative changes, and participate in training to stay compliant.
You will develop skills in workload management, team support, time management, problem solving, and service evaluation. Collaboration with the Systems Support Officer to improve systems and processes is also expected.
The role involves travel across Cheshire East as needed. It is a full-time position (5 days/week).
