Job summary

Osborne Richardson is seeking an experienced Planning Tech Support Team Leader for a Local Authority in London. The role oversees a team of Technical Officers, directing daily workload and ensuring quality checks on planning applications including appeals.

Strong knowledge of UK planning legislation and Development Management is essential. The position is a 6-month contract with hybrid working and a rate up to £50/hr inside IR35.

Job description

Our client is busy Local Authority based in London and they are seeking an experienced Planning Tech Support Team Leader for their Planning department.

You will oversee a team of Technical Officers who support the Planning Team with their administration functions. You will direct and prioritise the daily work load of the technical support staff and validate and quality check all types of planning applications, including appeals. You will also support the Heads of Service in the development of the service in relation to customer care, commercial needs or any other similar government or Council initiative

Applicants for this post must be have recent experience of working in a similar role within a local authority. You will also need to have an understanding of Development Management functions and processes. Your strong technical knowledge of UK planning legislation will need to be complimented with good management skills and the confidence and ability to direct a team. Experience with IDOX Uniform required.

This is a contract that will initially run for 6 months but there is the possibility it will be extended, and the rate offered will be up to £50/hr inside IR35.

This will be a hybrid role.
