Planning Team Leader

Rate: £42–£55 per hour

Location: Southwark

Hybrid Working

Play a leading role in shaping the future of one of London’s most ambitious regeneration areas.

Old Kent Road Planning and Growth Team is responsible for driving regeneration across the Old Kent Road Opportunity Area. The team handles planning applications, prepares the Area Action Plan, and coordinates the council’s wider regeneration efforts.

We are now recruiting a Planning Team Leader to lead on all design-related matters within the team.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide design input across planning applications and pre-applications
  • Advise applicants and improve the quality of proposals
  • Discharge conditions related to materials, mock-up panels, and detailing
  • Commission and manage design codes and master planning exercises
  • Represent the council on design matters at the Examination in Public for the draft Area Action Plan
  • Lead design elements of public realm and park improvement projects, including managing consultant teams
