Senior Associate / Partner - Planning (8 to 10 years' PQE+)

Location: Taunton, Somerset

The Opportunity

A dynamic law firm with ambitious growth plans is seeking an experienced Planning Partner or Senior Associate to join its expanding team in Taunton, Somerset. About the Role

As a Senior Associate or Partner in the Planning team, you will play a central role in advising clients on complex planning matters. Working collaboratively across other teams such as Real Estate, Dispute Resolution, Property Litigation, Corporate, Intellectual Property, and Data Protection, you will handle high-profile planning cases, including obtaining planning permissions, planning appeals, judicial reviews, and environmental law matters.

This role offers the opportunity to drive the growth of the Planning team, build strong client relationships, and mentor junior colleagues, while contributing to the firm's ongoing success in the region.

The Ideal Candidate

The successful candidate will have 8 to 10 years' PQE (or more) in planning law, with expertise in one or more of the following areas:

  • Obtaining planning permission
  • Planning appeals
  • CIL, s106, and other agreements
  • Judicial review
  • Highways and public rights of way
  • Environmental law


You will be a highly ambitious individual, ready for the next step in your career. Strong analytical and communication skills are essential, and you must be capable of working strategically with clients and collaborating within a team. Your ability to deliver exceptional client service and enhance the client experience will be key to your success in this role.
