About The Role

We are recruiting for a Planning Team Leader responsible for a small team managing essential jobs for our Tankering Operations Division at Southern Water, which operates 24/7. You will work at the client's head office as part of a team to effectively manage and prioritise the work of the Tankering services across Hampshire and Sussex regions.

Working Pattern: 4 on 4 off - Days

Working Hours: 6am - 6pm

Salary: £38,000

Location: Durrington

Key Responsibilities
  1. Train and motivate the team to plan all work within contractual SLAs, optimise travel routes, and field productivity.
  2. Work closely with operational stakeholders to identify and resolve issues, enhancing operational effectiveness.
  3. Maintain high standards in Health, Safety & Environment, Housekeeping, Performance, Waste, Communication, and Continuous Improvement.
  4. Lead the team to manage and coordinate workload according to priorities, estimating resources and durations based on metrics.
  5. Engage with external and internal customers through scheduled meetings.
  6. Conduct regular 1-2-1s with team members, focusing on coaching and development.
  7. Monitor performance against KPIs and identify opportunities for improvement.
  8. Collaborate to improve data quality in work promotion and scheduling for continuous improvement.
  9. Ensure accurate data entry and timely updates in work management systems, escalating issues as necessary.
  10. Meet client and operational requirements professionally, keeping stakeholders informed of incidents or events.
  11. Deliver excellent customer service to both external and internal customers.
  12. Contribute positively to the team by providing solutions and embracing change.
Skills/Qualifications
  1. Experience as a Planning Team Leader, preferably in the Utilities Industry.
  2. Attention to detail.
  3. Experience working in a fast-paced environment is advantageous.
  4. Proficiency in Microsoft Office, especially Excel.
  5. Strong communication skills for stakeholder, engineer, team, and customer interactions.
  6. Leadership skills to motivate and inspire the team.
  7. Excellent organisational and prioritisation abilities.
  8. Ability to analyse operational data for accurate scheduling.
  9. Familiarity with scheduling software and planning tools used in the water industry is an advantage.
