About The Role

We are recruiting for a Planning Team Leader who is responsible for a small team to plan and manage essential jobs for our Tankering Operations Division for Southern Water which operates 24/7. You will work at the clients head office in a team to effectively manage and prioritise the work of the Tankering services throughout the Region of Hampshire and Sussex.

Working Pattern: Monday - Friday

Working Hours: 40 hours per week / 8am - 4.30pm (1/2 lunch)

Salary: £32,000

Location: Durrington

Key Responsibilities

  • Train and motivate the team to plan all working for the Tankering division within contractual SLAs, whilst optimising travel routes and field productivity
  • Working closely with the key Operational stakeholders to identify and rectify issues whilst improving the effectiveness of the operations department.
  • Maintaining high standards within Health, Safety & Environment, Housekeeping, Performance, Waste, Communication and Continuous Improvement.
  • Lead the team to manage and coordinate the promoted workload according to defined priorities, estimating resource and duration requirements in line with agreed metrics.
  • Engage with external and internal customers in scheduled meetings.
  • Conduct regular 1-2-1s with team members and take responsibility for the coaching and development of the Planning Team
  • Track and monitor performance against KPIs with a clear plan for opportunities to improve.
  • Work with teams to enhance data quality in work promotion and scheduling to drive continuous improvement.
  • Maintain timely and accurate input and uploading of information into the works management systems, ensuring that all issues are recorded and escalated.
  • Ensure that all the client and operational requirements are met in a professional and efficient manner. This may include keeping the client and management team to be informed of any ongoing incidents or events.
  • You will ensure the highest level of customer service is achieved, to both external and internal customers, providing excellent customer satisfaction.
  • Provide a positive and innovative input into the team, through provision of solutions to problems and embracing change.

Skills/Qualifications

  • Experienced Planning Team Leader, preferably in the Utilities Industry
  • Attention to Detail
  • Experience of working within a fast-paced environmentwould be an advantage.
  • Competent skills in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel.
  • Strong communication skills for both dealing with stakeholders, engineers, team and customers
  • Leadership skills with the ability to motivate and inspire.
  • Excellent organisational and prioritisation skills
  • Ability to analyse and validate operational data to ensure accurate scheduling.
  • Familiarity with scheduling software and operational planning tools used within water industry contracts would be an advantage.
