Description

Love connecting the dots, asking the tricky questions and finding smarter ways to get things done?

We're looking for a Planning and Prioritisation Senior Manager to help shape how we make decisions, set priorities and get things moving across Virgin Red. You'll be right at the heart of our Investment and Commercial team, working with senior leaders, influencing big decisions and making sure we're focusing our time and energy on the things that really matter.

What you’ll be getting stuck into
  • Keep the big picture in focus. Take ownership of our commercial planning and prioritisation processes, helping us decide which partnerships, projects and opportunities deserve our attention and investment.
  • Bring structure to the action. Lead regular commercial planning meetings and decision-making forums, bringing together the right people, information and recommendations to keep everything moving.
  • Make smart commercial calls. Use data, insight and your own commercial judgement to assess opportunities, challenge priorities and make clear, well-informed recommendations to senior leaders.
  • Connect the dots. Work closely with teams across the business to understand competing demands, spot dependencies and keep everyone pulling in the same direction.
  • Be a trusted voice in the room. Build strong relationships with senior stakeholders, confidently navigate challenging conversations and influence decisions, even when priorities or opinions differ.
  • Keep things on track. Maintain a clear view of our commercial plans, resources, risks and progress, making sure decisions turn into action and nothing important falls through the cracks.
  • Find better ways of working. Help shape and improve how we manage partnerships, assess new opportunities and make decisions. We're always looking to do things smarter, simpler and better.
  • Turn the numbers into actionable insights. Build and maintain portfolio reporting, performance measures and insights that help us make data-led decisions and keep improving how the portfolio performs.
  • Back the big projects. Drive and support improvement initiatives and strategic projects, helping us work smarter and deliver more together.
What you’ll bring
  • Commercial understanding and strategic thinking. You understand what makes a great business opportunity, can see the bigger picture and know how to balance competing priorities to deliver real value.
  • Insight that drives action. You’ve developed reporting, performance measures and insights that people actually use to make better decisions and improve business outcomes.
  • Experience bringing order to complexity. You've worked in commercial operations, strategy, consulting, portfolio management, transformation or a similar environment, and know how to turn complex challenges into clear plans and actions.
  • Confidence to challenge decisions and influence senior stakeholders. You're comfortable working with senior leaders, asking the tricky questions and constructively challenging decisions. You know how to influence without relying on job titles or hierarchy.
  • Brilliant relationship-building skills. You're a natural relationship builder who enjoys getting out into the business, bringing people together and working with different personalities and perspectives.
  • A proactive, adaptable approach. You take initiative, identify what needs doing and work independently when appropriate. You're comfortable with ambiguity, happy to roll up your sleeves and can move between strategic thinking and the finer details.
  • Curiosity and a willingness to learn. You're open-minded, quick to learn and excited by the opportunity to make an impact in a high-performing team. An understanding of commercial partnerships would be a bonus, but we're more interested in your judgement, drive and ability to make things happen.
What you’ll get in return

We know life doesn’t stop when work starts. So we’ve built our benefits to support you - at work and beyond.

  • Life – support when it matters most, with healthcare from day one, family-friendly policies and help for life’s bigger moments
  • Work – the foundations that set you up for the future, including a competitive pension, life assurance and options like our EV scheme
  • Spirit – space to grow and enjoy the journey, with a personal learning budget, mentoring, volunteering time… and our famous “Screw it, let’s do it” pot

It’s all designed to help you feel your best, do your best, and enjoy the ride - with a few extra Virgin touches along the way (because we don’t really do “standard”).

The essentials
  • Salary: £67,000 - £81,000 + bonus — we’re big on transparency, so no smoke and mirrors here. We’ll always offer a salary that reflects your experience, with room to grow within the range.
  • Where you’ll work: We come together in the office approx. 2-3 days a week — the rest is yours to work in your own space
Bring your whole self

We welcome people from all walks of life, with all kinds of experiences and ways of thinking. Different perspectives, however your mind works, help us see things differently and do things better.

If there’s anything we can do to support you through the hiring process, just let us know, we’ll always do our best to make it work for you.

We believe in using business as a force for good, creating positive change for our people, our communities and the world around us. That includes being a Fair Chance employer and championing strengths like dyslexic thinking - staying open, listening to individual circumstances and focusing on potential.
