Salary G7 £32,654 - £37,035 per annum
Permanent full-time position.
This is an exciting time to join Walsall as we progress our new Walsall Borough Local Plan that will support the delivery of new housing, employment opportunities and sustainable infrastructure while addressing important planning related issues such as climate change, protecting and enhancing the natural and built environment and improving the health and well-being of our communities.
We are a multi award-winning council undergoing a significant £1.5 billion regeneration program which will transform the borough into a thriving destination.
Walsall is also a regional town with a rich history that is reflected in the quality and quantity of heritage assets across the borough and also benefits from a number of sites that have been designated for their habitat provision and broader ecological importance.
We are looking for two highly motivated individuals to join our Planning Policy and Environment teams which sit within the wider Planning & Building Control Service area.
You should be able to demonstrate relevant experience in the Planning profession and a good knowledge of planning legislation, or a related degree. We are particularly interested in candidates that already have related qualifications and experience in ecology or heritage to support our existing senior experts in this field to progress work on our new local plan, other large strategic projects and to support the recently introduced national Biodiversity Net Gain (BNG) requirements.
