Planning Officer (Public Sector)

VANRATH is assisting our client, a large Public Sector Organisation, in their search for a Planning Officer for an initial 3-month period with the possibility of extension. The role will primarily be based at their Craigavon site.

Responsibilities

1. Support the Social Housing Development Programme by identifying and supporting schemes in areas of Housing Need.
2. Undertake land asset activities, including evaluation, estate studies, support for Transfer Schemes, and related planning applications.
3. Assist in housing-led regeneration and support the delivery of new housing developments, including mixed-use and mixed-tenure neighborhoods.
4. Conduct Site Identification and Feasibility Studies in high-demand housing areas and rural regions with unmet needs.
5. Provide town planning advice to the Housing Executive.
6. Complete Housing Market Analysis and Housing Need Statements.

Qualifications and Experience

• Hold an RTPI-accredited planning qualification or an equivalent recognized by a professional organization such as IPI or RICS (P&D).
• Demonstrate relevant experience in planning or regeneration environments.
• Possess a full current UK driving license or access to suitable transportation to meet the role's requirements.
• Ideally, be a member of the RTPI or an equivalent professional body, or be working towards membership.
