Job Responsibilities:

1. Processing a varied and complex caseload of planning applications, including major development projects, through negotiation with developers and their agents.
2. Drafting reports to Planning Committee and for delegated decisions.
3. Providing support and guidance to officers on processing planning applications, monitoring, compliance, and other planning functions.
4. Preparing appeal statements and attending hearings and public inquiries as an expert witness in planning and enforcement appeals.
5. Representing the Local Planning Authority and defending its decisions.
6. Responding promptly to enquiries from developers and the public on development matters, ensuring efficient service and compliance with legislation, policies, and council procedures.
