Job description

We are looking for a motivated and skilled planning professional to join our South Holland District Council Planning Service as a Planning/Senior Planning Officer (Career Graded).

This is a career graded role, with opportunity to progress from Planning Officer to Senior Planning Officer. Applicants with previous planning experience and in all levels of the role are encouraged to apply. You will work closely with the Principal Planning Officer and Development Management Lead to contribute to a positive, high performing planning service.

Key responsibilities of the role include:

  • Manage a range of planning applications, including minor and major developments.
  • Providing planning advice to internal stakeholders, developers, members, and residents.
  • Attend and present at planning committee as necessary.
  • Work collaboratively at all levels to provide an effective and efficient delivery of service.

This position is a shared role within the South and East Lincolnshire Councils Partnership (SELCP) and forms part of the S113 agreement between the participating partnership Councils in accordance with the Memorandum of Agreement 1st October 2021.
