Job description

Osborne Richardson are working with a busy local authority in South Wales which requires a Planning Officer to join their Development Management Team for a contract role. They need someone who is experienced with managing a caseload made up predominately of minor and householder planning applications, though there is the opportunity to work on small major applications also. Ideally our client is looking for a Planner who has some experience of working in a local authority setting.

You will need a relevant town planning degree and have a good working knowledge of UK planning legislation. Good communication skills and confidence are essential and you must be comfortable dealing with the general public. Our client has a wide range of work underway and will accept applications from those with varying levels of experience.

This will initially be offered as a 3 month contract but could be extended and the hourly rate offered will be around £25-£30/hr umbrella depending on your experience. Our client does offer flexible working arrangements, though office attendance / site visits will be required every other week. A full UK driving licence is required for site visits, you may have access to a pool car.
