Overview

Reference: CBC25069. Salary details: £25,583 to £40,777 per year (depending upon qualifications and experience). Job term: permanent. Appointment type: full time. Hours: 37 hours per week. Location: Town Hall. Department: Development Management - Planning.

Responsibilities

As a planning officer you will:

  • manage your own case-load of varied planning applications and appeals
  • undertake case officer duties on a range of application submissions
  • carry out a significant day-to-day professional workload requiring motivation, initiative, negotiating skills and tact
  • deal with elected members, the public, applicants and objectors in a professional and meaningful manner
  • apply a wide and up-to-date knowledge of planning legislation and a sound judgement to the developing environment
  • provide a quality service to customers and contribute to ongoing service improvement
