We are looking for an individual who will play a key role in ensuring the effective delivery of our statutory processes on a part time basis.
WHAT IS INVOLVED?
You will manage a case load of minerals-related enforcement matters including through maintaining and following systems for identification, evaluation and processing of breaches of planning control and the monitoring of development and the making of recommendations to service management in such matters. In particular you will play a key role in ensuring the effective monitoring of minerals and related sites by developing and maintaining records and databases of relevant information, and through the implementation of a planned programme of site inspections. You may be expected to attend Council meetings, including Planning Committee meetings to assist service management in the presentation of reports in relation to mineral enforcement matters.

WHAT WILL I NEED?
You should be educated to Degree level or equivalent in a relevant town planning qualification or have recent experience of development management or other regulatory monitoring/enforcement services.

HYBRID WORKING
Durham County Council currently operates a hybrid working policy where a model of 2 days in the workplace and 3 days at home/remote will apply. This model is pro-rated for part time roles and arrangements are at managers discretion, alternatively you can work all of your contracted hours within the workplace if you prefer.
