Planning Manager - Solar & BESS

Leap29 is seeking a Planning Manager to join our Development team, offering an exciting opportunity to work on large, complex renewable energy projects. This permanent role involves engaging in a variety of projects, utilizing skills gained through training, experience, and personal interest.

Key Responsibilities:
  1. Leading planning and consent processes for Solar and Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS) projects.
  2. Managing planning projects from initiation to completion, coordinating with clients, stakeholders, and team members.
  3. Reviewing planning reports and documentation prepared by consultants.
  4. Overseeing project management aspects such as budgets, stakeholder engagement, deliverables, and design.
  5. Serving as the primary client contact to ensure smooth project progress.
  6. Ensuring planning compliance throughout development and construction phases.
  7. Mentoring and supporting junior staff members.
  8. Conducting background research, desk studies, field visits, and preparing planning assessments and reports.
  9. Liaising with relevant authorities and stakeholders involved in planning processes.
Qualifications and Requirements:
  1. A bachelor’s degree in a relevant field or equivalent professional experience.
  2. At least five years of experience, preferably within a planning consultancy or renewable energy company.
  3. Strong report-writing skills.
  4. A full, clean driving license.
