Job summary

Catering in Derby is seeking an experienced Planning Manager to lead planning on a major construction project. Hybrid role with on-site presence about three days a week and remote working for the rest of the time.

The role focuses on developing, maintaining and controlling detailed programmes using Primavera P6, delivering progress reports, and supporting key project decisions to ensure successful delivery.

• Lead the planning and programming activities for a major construction project.
• Develop, maintain and manage detailed project programmes using Primavera P6.
• Monitor progress against the programme, identify delays and implement mitigation strategies.
• Produce regular progress reports, programme updates and look-ahead schedules.
• Work closely with project managers, commercial teams and site management to ensure programme objectives are achieved.
• Support change management and programme impact assessments.
• Attend planning, progress and client meetings, providing expert planning advice.
• Promote planning best practice throughout the project and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives.

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Planning Manager to join one of the UK’s leading main contractors on a major construction project based in Derby.

The Role

As Planning Manager, you will take responsibility for overseeing the planning function on a major construction project, ensuring robust programme management throughout the project lifecycle.

Working closely with the project delivery team, you will develop, manage and monitor detailed construction programmes using Primavera P6, providing accurate progress reporting, identifying risks and opportunities, and supporting key project decisions to ensure successful delivery.

This is a hybrid position, with approximately three days per week on site in Derby and the remainder working remotely, offering an excellent balance between site collaboration and flexible working.
