Job summary

Trelleborg Sealing Solutions in Rotherham is seeking a Planning Manager to align demand, manufacturing capacity and inventory strategy while leading the site planning function. Qualifications

• Degree in Supply Chain, Manufacturing, Operations Management, Business or Engineering or equivalent practical experience.
• Minimum 5 years' experience within a manufacturing planning environment.
• Proven experience leading planning, scheduling or supply chain activities.
• Knowledge of Sales & Operations Planning (S&OP), Production Planning, Capacity Planning, Inventory Management, MRP/ERP systems, Manufacturing operations.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
• Strong analytical, organisational and problem-solving abilities.
• Advanced Microsoft Excel skills.
• Ability to influence decision-making and manage competing priorities within a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

• Lead the development and execution of the site master production schedule.
• Translate customer demand into achievable manufacturing plans.
• Manage production schedules to align with labour, machinery and material availability.
• Drive improvements in schedule adherence, planning accuracy and operational performance.
• Support and coordinate the site's S&OP process, balancing demand and capacity.
• Conduct short, medium and long-term capacity planning and identify potential constraints.
• Work closely with Procurement to ensure material availability and minimise supply risks.
• Drive customer on-time delivery (OTD) performance and manage critical priorities.
• Maintain planning master data and improve ERP, MRP and reporting systems.
• Lead continuous improvement, digitalisation and automation initiatives across planning and supply chain processes.
• Manage, coach and develop the Planning Team to achieve high performance and engagement.

About The Job

As our Planning Manager, you will play a pivotal role in aligning customer demand, manufacturing capability, material availability and inventory strategy to ensure operational success. You will have the opportunity to lead and develop the site's planning function, owning the end-to-end production planning process, including master scheduling, capacity planning and Sales & Operations Planning (S&OP). Working closely with Operations, Customer Service, Procurement, Sales and Finance teams, you will ensure customer commitments are met while optimising efficiency, inventory levels and resource utilisation.

Your Responsibilities Will Include

Essential Requirements

• Degree qualified in Supply Chain, Manufacturing, Operations Management, Business, Engineering or equivalent practical experience.
• Minimum of 5 years' experience within a manufacturing planning environment.
• Proven experience leading planning, scheduling or supply chain activities.
• Strong knowledge of:

Desirable Requirements

• Previous people management or leadership experience.
• APICS/ASCM CPIM, CSCP or equivalent professional qualification.

• A-Level qualification or equivalent industry background.
