Job Description

We have partnered with a leading developer to onboard a Planning Manager or ambitious Planner looking to step up.

Working closely with land, design, technical, and external consultant teams, you will lead on planning applications, appeals, and will play a critical role in delivering planning consents that align with the land and development strategy of the growing portfolio of sites.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the planning strategy for allocated sites from pre-acquisition through to planning approval.
  • Manage the preparation, submission, and negotiation of planning applications.
  • Coordinate and appoint planning consultants and other external advisors.
  • Build strong relationships with local planning authorities, communities, and stakeholders.
  • Monitor local planning policies and identify opportunities or risks to the land pipeline.
  • Provide planning advice to land and development teams and contribute to land acquisition assessments.
  • Support appeals and represent the business at planning hearings and public inquiries when required.

About You

  • Degree qualified in Town Planning or a related discipline if preferable.
  • Strong understanding of the UK planning system and local government processes.
  • Proven track record in delivering successful planning applications and appeals.
  • Excellent project management, negotiation, and communication skills.
  • A collaborative mindset with the ability to influence both internally and externally.
  • Demonstrable contacts and relationships across Buckinghamshire, Hertfordshire would be beneficial.
