Planning Manager Exeter

We’re working with an award-winning regional housebuilder that is expanding its planning team in Exeter. They are looking for an experienced Planning Manager to take ownership of a diverse portfolio of projects across the South West.

Key Responsibilities

1. Assess and appraise new housing sites (immediate and strategic)
2. Prepare and manage planning applications, appeals, and condition discharges
3. Coordinate with internal teams, consultants, and planning authorities
4. Write planning documents, including Design & Access Statements
5. Represent the company at consultations and stakeholder meetings
6. Promote strategic land through the Local Plan process
7. Support and mentor junior team members
8. Advise the Managing Director on planning matters

What We’re Looking For

• Proven track record in residential planning (client-side or consultancy)
• Strong working knowledge of the planning system and housing development process
• Excellent negotiation, communication, and report-writing skills
• MRTPI qualification (or working towards)
• Full UK driving licence
