This role will be within our water and wastewater capital project delivery team. Our teams deliver large-scale capital programmes aimed at keeping water infrastructure resilient for the long-term while protecting the environment.

What will you be doing?
As our Planning Manager you'll lead the strategic planning and execution of our Environment Act 2021 Section 82 compliance project. This is a pivotal role that will ensure the efficient and timely installation and operation of continuous water quality monitoring equipment across our sites.

You'll be instrumental in developing, managing, and optimising the project plan to meet these critical regulatory requirements.

You'll have the opportunity to develop and maintain comprehensive project plans for the installation, commissioning, and ongoing operation of Section 82 monitoring equipment. Detailed schedules, resource allocation, and budget forecasts.

You'll establish and manage realistic project timelines, milestones, and deliverables, ensuring adherence to regulatory deadlines and internal targets. Identify and secure necessary resources, including personnel, equipment, and materials, coordinating with internal teams and external suppliers.

You'll proactively identify potential planning risks and issues, developing mitigation strategies and contingency plans to minimise disruptions. Work closely with the Section 82 Liaison Specialist, technical teams, operations, procurement, and finance to ensure seamless project integration and execution. Prepare and present regular project updates to senior management and relevant stakeholders, highlighting achievements, challenges, and forecasts.

What you’ll bring

- Do you have proven experience as a Planning Manager or Senior Project Planner on complex infrastructure or environmental projects?
- Do you have experience in developing and managing detailed project plans, schedules, and budgets using industry-standard planning software (e.g., Primavera P6, Microsoft Project)?
- Do you have excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with a keen eye for detail?
- Superior communication and interpersonal skills, capable of influencing and collaborating with diverse teams and stakeholders.
- Can you work under pressure, manage competing priorities, and adapt to changing project requirements?
- Are you proactive and results-oriented approach, with a commitment to delivering projects on time and within budget?
