Job description

We are seeking an experienced and commercially astute Planning Manager to lead operations in their Repairs and Maintenance (R&M) division within the water industry.

As Planning Manager, you will take full ownership of planning and coordinating day-to-day R&M activities, including leakage repairs, meter installations, and stop tap maintenance. You’ll manage a large, skilled team of 50+ field operatives, including plumbers, supervisors, and team leaders, ensuring high performance and efficient service delivery.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead the planning and scheduling of R&M works across a regional network.
  • Manage and motivate a team of plumbers, team leaders, and supervisors (50+ staff).
  • Optimise resource allocation and ensure timely, high-quality service delivery.
  • Monitor team performance and drive continuous improvement in planning and execution.
  • Collaborate with senior leadership and operational teams to align plans with business goals.
  • Ensure compliance with health & safety regulations, company policies, and industry standards.
  • Solve operational challenges quickly and effectively, maintaining service continuity.

Requirements:

  • Proven experience in a Planning Manager or similar role within the water, utilities, or infrastructure sector.
  • Strong background in repairs and maintenance operations, ideally including leakage, metering, and stop taps.
  • Confident leader with experience managing large field teams in a fast-paced environment.
  • Excellent organisational, communication, and decision-making skills.
  • Must be office-based full time- 5 days per week.
