North Northamptonshire Council is seeking a Planning and Highways Lawyer to join their in-house Regulatory Team. You will handle a diverse caseload, provide high-quality legal advice to clients and stakeholders, and attend Planning Committee meetings each month as the Legal Officer.

The role offers a collaborative, development-focused environment with supervision, opportunities to influence governance, and flexible hybrid working arrangements.

Qualifications

• Qualified Solicitor/Barrister/FCILEx with CPD evidence.
• Experience in planning and highways matters.
• Ability to attend Planning Committee as the Legal Officer.

Responsabilités

• Manage a varied caseload of planning and highways matters under supervision.
• Draft and review legal documents using standard templates.
• Represent the Council at routine hearings, committees and tribunals.
• Maintain accurate records in the case management system and manage billing.
• Contribute to development of templates, precedents and processes.
• Support governance, enforcement and project work including training.
• Ensure compliance with legislation, regulatory requirements and policies.
• Provide general and specialist Planning and Highways advice to clients and officers.
