This position reports to

Local Product Group Manager


Your role and responsibilities

In this role, you will lead Supply Planning, Inventory Management, Order Handling, and Resource Management in the local business unit. You will drive planning initiatives to improve customer on-time delivery and lead-time, and be accountable for inventory and supply plan adherence, as well as reporting resource utilization. Additionally, you will lead the local order handling and customer excellence team, managing front-end priorities and communication. The work model for this role is: Onsite.


You will be mainly accountable for:

  1. Owner of the site supply planning process. Providing visibility of supply capacity and local supply objectives into the Hub/PG S&OP process. Offering feedback on the site's ability to support the demand plan. Establishing and maintaining finished-good inventory management processes aligned with Group/Division/Business Unit instructions. Being responsible for finished-good inventory within the site and driving inventory optimization projects.
  2. Running a short-term planning process or S&OE process, connecting planning with execution. Coordinating appropriate responses to unplanned events. Supporting the profitable execution of customer orders in coordination with project management, engineering, manufacturing, and procurement. Leading local order management and customer excellence teams to ensure proper prioritization and successful communication with customers.
  3. Leading/contributing to cross-functional initiatives for optimizing customer on-time delivery, lead-time, inventory, resource utilization, and forecast accuracy, utilizing lean 6 sigma tools when applicable. Collaborating with other units in the end-to-end supply chain.
  4. Leading the local planning function and ensuring (with HR support) that planning and order management teams are well-organized, staffed, skilled, and directed. Guiding, motivating, and developing team members within HR policies for the benefit of both ABB and the employees.

Qualifications for the role
  • Bachelor's degree in engineering, business, or manufacturing-related field PLUS a minimum of 8 years experience in manufacturing planning and fulfillment working with flow products and systems.
  • Strong knowledge of planning ERP systems, demand planning, and lean manufacturing.
  • Extensive experience with SAP, capacity planning, and business analytics tools.
  • Proven experience in customer-facing communication.
  • Leadership skills, with a collaborative, solution-focused approach and strong communication skills.
  • Fluent English language skills.
  • Legal work authorization to work for ABB in the US.
