Planning & Forecasting Manager, Amazon Now (Quick Commerce)

We are seeking a talented, dedicated, and highly analytical Instock Manager to drive selection and in-stock for Amazon Now, the quick commerce arm of Amazon. This is a unique opportunity to play a key role in an important initiative at Amazon. The ideal candidate will have proven analytical skills, experience in process improvement, thought leadership, and delivering results.

The Instock Manager will be responsible for executing inventory strategies to optimize customer experience, sales, margin, and turns. They will focus on achieving high in-stock rates to meet customer needs, analyze core drivers of in-stock performance, and proactively identify opportunities to improve tools and workflows. This role involves close interaction with retail and operations partners across Amazon and is vital to the growth of this strategic initiative.

The successful candidate will communicate effectively across teams and levels, balancing internal and external customer requirements. Flexibility and prioritization skills in a dynamic environment are essential. Our team culture is goal-oriented, collaborative, and results-driven. Key job responsibilities
  1. Maintain excellent in-stock rates for owned categories and/or regions.
  2. Execute inventory strategies to optimize sales, turns, and inventory health.
  3. Monitor, analyze, and own key performance indicators such as in-stock rate, procurement lead time (PLT), fill rate, forecast accuracy, and turns.
  4. Forecast and manage inbound and outbound inventory flows, including purchasing and removing unproductive inventory.
  5. Conduct root cause analysis on operational issues, develop action plans, and manage improvements while handling multiple priorities.
  6. Collaborate with internal teams to drive tool and process improvements, focusing on automating manual tasks.
Additional responsibilities
  1. Work with product leaders to gather insights and ensure alignment for product selections.
  2. Analyze market trends and competitors to inform strategic decisions.
  3. Develop frameworks for input gathering and validate stakeholder contributions in the selection process.
  4. Coordinate cross-functional efforts to maintain project timelines and streamline communication.
About the team

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
  • 3+ years of experience with Excel
  • 4+ years in supply chain, inventory management, or project management
  • Bachelor's degree or 3+ years of professional/military experience
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
  • Knowledge of statistical inventory control principles
  • Experience with process improvement techniques such as Kaizen, Lean Manufacturing, or Six Sigma
