Job summary

Jet2.com Limited is seeking a Planning Executive – Slots to join our small Slots team and manage Jet2.com’s airport slot portfolio as fleet and schedules expand. Hybrid working (2 days in the office) is available, with generous benefits including colleague discounts on Jet2.com flights and Jet2holidays, plus a discretionary profit share scheme.

You will specialise in Slot Coordination, liaising with independent slot coordinators, airport operations and commercial teams, analysing constraints,

Qualifications

• Experience of working in an airline or travel environment.
• Ability to work under pressure to meet deadlines and slot constraints.
• Strong organisational skills and attention to detail.
• Comfortable using IT systems from MS tools to bespoke airline planning applications.

Responsibilities

• Direct liaison with independent slot coordinators, OCC, operations and commercial teams.
• Analyze airport constraints at UK bases and overseas destinations.
• Follow IATA Worldwide Airport Slot Guidelines in daily practice.
• Build slot submissions and slot returns; maintain historic slots at Level 3 and Level 2 airports.
• Manage ad-hoc slots and assist with slot queries and problems with the OCC team.
• Edit and amend flight schedules to meet airport slot requirements and coordinate changes with Revenue and Pre Travel Services.

Job description

Reporting to the GM - Schedules Planning & Slots, our Planning Executive – Slots will work as part of the small Slots team and Take Responsibility for the management of Jet2.com’s ever-expanding Airport Slot Portfolio. Recent fleet and schedule expansion in the Jet2.com network leads to the requirement for this exciting new role.

Airport Slots are a key asset of our business, forming a large part of the authorisation for the flight to take place and are integral to the success of every operation.

What you'll be doing:

Specialising in Slot Coordination, the mainstay of this role's duties are as follows:

• Direct Liaison with Independent Slot Coordinators, Airport Operations and Commercial teams.
• Detailed analysis of airport constraints, both at UK bases and Overseas destinations.
• Building knowledge and following the methods of the IATA Worldwide Airport Slot Guidelines.
• Building Slot submissions, Slot Returns and maintaining Jet2.com’s Historic Slots at Level 3 and Level 2 airports.
• Day-to-day management of ad-hoc slots.
• Working closely with our OCC team to help with slot queries and problems.
• Adherence to regular external deadlines.
• Editing and Amending flight schedules to meet airport slot requirements and following through with the schedule changes to the customer - working closely with Revenue Teams and Pre Travel Services.
• Assisting other tasks and projects within the Planning Team.

What you'll have:

• Experience of working in an airline or travel environment, with an interest in airport logistics.
• Comfortable using IT systems ranging from MS tools to bespoke airline planning applications.
• Ability to work in high pressured situations to get the job done.
• Excellent time management and work prioritisation skills.
• Practical thinker with a thirst for problem-solving.
• Previous experience of Airport Slot Management, either as an Airline Representative or an Airport Coordinator would be an advantage.
