Job description

Role Overview

As our Planning Executive, you'll sit at the heart of operations, turning customer orders into a production schedule that keeps our factory running smoothly and our promises to customers on time and in full. You'll plan and coordinate daily production activity, keep schedules honest by reflecting what's actually happening on the shop floor, and work closely with our Operations Manager to track efficiency and cycle times, spotting capacity constraints before they become problems rather than after. This is a role for someone who's genuinely energised by precision, someone with a sharp head for numbers, real confidence in Excel, and a meticulous eye for detail who takes pride in getting the plan right. You'll be the connective tissue between customer service, sales, procurement and production, so you'll need to be a natural communicator, comfortable coordinating with couriers and transport providers as easily as you are reporting on project costs or updating customers on dispatch dates. We're looking for someone with a background in scheduling or demand planning, ideally within a manufacturing or engineering environment, who brings a customer-first mindset and a proactive streak, someone who'd rather solve a problem a week early than fight a fire when it's too late. Above all, you'll share our values: Hungry to improve how we plan and deliver, Humble enough to learn from what the data and the shop floor are telling you, and Smart in how you balance competing priorities under pressure. If you want a role where your organisation and attention to detail genuinely keep a business moving, we'd love to hear from you.

Who we are

Nicholson STS Ltd is an innovative and fast-growing company which designs, manufactures and supplies specialist roofing systems. We supply Tier 1 construction companies, roofing contractors and the solar industry with unique products to help solve specific challenges in the industry, such as waterproofing riser penetrations, and fixing to the structure in a 100% waterproof way. We aim to be involved in sales projects at the earliest opportunity, so target specifiers and architects.

The company was started by two brothers, Paul Boyt and Alan Boyt in 2000. Before this, they were roofing contractors, but quickly realised that there were not the products on the market to solve challenges they were facing, so they began to design and manufacture products. These became the basis of the Nicholson product range, and we’re still innovating today.
