Job Description

Title: Planning Engineer
Location: Leeds (hybrid)
Salary: £45-65,000 + car allowance + package

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Planning Engineer to join the growing team of a leading main contractor who delivers complex power industry projects across the UK which are typically valued between £30-350m. Reporting to the Planning Manager, they will work alongside a team of experienced Planning Engineers and will be involved in projects throughout their full life cycle, from tender stages through to completion.

The Planning Engineer will initially be involved in an exciting project based in Leeds valued at £35m. They will be a key part of the project team, responsible for developing, managing, and monitoring the construction programme. They will play a crucial role in ensuring the project is completed on time, within scope, and to the highest standards.

The Planning Engineer will be offered a flexible working week, circa 3 days on site/office with the remainder working remote. Key Responsibilities:

1. Create and maintain detailed project schedules, ensuring alignment with project objectives.
2. Collaborate with project managers, site teams, and stakeholders to track progress and address any scheduling issues.
3. Analyze project timelines, identify potential delays, and propose mitigation strategies.
4. Conduct site visits to monitor progress, ensuring adherence to the schedule.
5. Prepare regular reports for senior management, highlighting key project metrics and updates.
6. Utilize planning software to manage and optimize project schedules.
7. Ensure compliance with all relevant industry standards and safety regulations.

Requirements:

1. Proven experience as a Planning Engineer.
2. Strong proficiency in planning and scheduling software, such as Primavera P6 or similar.
3. In-depth understanding of construction and project management principles.
4. Strong communication and teamwork skills, with the ability to liaise effectively with diverse project teams.
5. A degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field.

Offer:

1. Starting salary of between £45-65,000 per annum.
2. Car allowance of £5,000 per annum or choice of a company car.
