About the role

This is a fantastic opportunity to join a high-performing Planning Enforcement Service, following a recent transformation that has expanded the team.

As a Planning Enforcement Officer, you will:

  • Investigate alleged breaches of planning control within the Borough.
  • Take appropriate action to protect local amenities and provide confidence to residents.
  • Conduct site inspections, interview members of the public, and liaise with landowners, occupiers, and Council colleagues.
  • Assist with all stages of the investigation and enforcement process, from complaint receipt to case closure.
  • Prepare and serve Planning Enforcement Notices and Enforcement Appeal documents.
  • Support legal proceedings, including assisting in prosecution cases when required.

About You

  • Strong investigative and problem-solving skills.
  • Knowledge of planning legislation and enforcement processes.
  • Excellent communication and negotiation abilities.
  • Ability to manage multiple cases effectively.
  • Experience in planning enforcement or a related field is desirable.
