Our client is an independent planning consultancy with a national office network and a strong pipeline of work. It is now seeking a Planning Director in Birmingham to support continued growth and take a leading role on complex projects.

This role is built around one central idea: take a visible leadership position in a growing regional office with scope to shape recruitment and market strategy. The team’s current workload includes major residential, regeneration, logistics, employment and strategic land projects.
Prepare clear planning appraisals, statements and strategic advice.
Manage planning applications and coordinate technical inputs.
Maintain regular, professional communication with clients and project teams.
Negotiate constructively with local planning authorities and other stakeholders.
Review work produced by junior colleagues and support their development.
Contribute to fee proposals, client development and the commercial management of projects.
Mrtpi; established midlands network; strong work-winning record and proven team leadership. You should also be organised, dependable and able to explain planning issues in straightforward language. The business is interested in people who value good advice and long-term client relationships rather than unnecessary internal politics.
