Hybrid – the successful candidate will be required to be in the office at least two days per week, as well as when required for meetings etc.

Are you an experienced Development Management (DM) professional with a passion for service improvement and team development? We’re looking for a skilled DM Manager to lead the integration of the technical Support team back into Planning. This role will be instrumental in reshaping team functions, driving a successful restructure, and enhancing technical support and training across the service.
Key Accountabilities:
Lead the integration and redesign of the Technical Support team within Planning.
Support the restructure process, ensuring alignment with wider Planning service goals.
Manage the day-to-day operations of the DM teams (excluding enforcement and strategic sites).
Work closely with the Assistant Director of Planning to develop and implement a Planning Improvement Plan.
Foster a high-performance culture through mentoring, process review, and skills development.
Key Criteria:
Proven experience in Development Management, including team leadership and service redesign.
Strong understanding of Planning processes and systems.
Demonstrated ability to lead organisational change and restructure initiatives.
Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills.
Experience in managing performance and delivering continuous improvement within a local government or similar planning environment.
