Job summary

Mid Devon District Council invites applications for a Planning role focused on shaping the Local Plan for homes, jobs and infrastructure in a rural district near Exeter. You will monitor development and participate in project work across levels, while engaging with communities and stakeholders.

The successful candidate will hold a planning-related degree, ideally with some experience, and possess strong written and verbal communication skills plus IT literacy including MS Access and ArcGIS.

Qualifications

• Degree in Planning or related subject is essential or highly preferred.
• Good written and verbal communication skills are essential.
• IT literacy with familiarity in MS Access and ArcGIS is desirable.

Responsibilities

• Support monitoring of new homes and other land uses within the Local Plan.
• Gain experience across a range of planning projects at different levels.
• Engage with communities and build networks to support plan development.
