About The Role
The
Planning Assistant contributes to the work of the Development Management Team by taking ownership of a caseload mainly of planning applications, pre-application enquiries and appeals, and other service related tasks as required.
They also assist in supporting senior officers in the team alongside developing their knowledge of a broader range of applications handled in the department.
This could be
your first step into planning or maybe you’ve had
some experience in planning and want to
expand your knowledge. In this role we are looking for an
enthusiastic individual, keen to
broaden their knowledge and work in a supportive team.
This role gives opportunities for
career development, with many of our previous Planning Assistants progressing to Officers. Mole Valley values their staff and wants to help them achieve their professional aspirations.
You will be working in an area that is predominantly
Green Belt and
AONB, which introduces interesting challenges for decision makers. The urban areas include historic market towns and associated heritage issues, which pose a different set of thought provoking issues for decision makers.
About The Team
The Development Management Service aims to deliver high quality decisions in a timely fashion to ensure that the high quality environment of Mole Valley is protected and enhanced.
Collaboration and sharing knowledge is key to our success and we encourage new team members to help us maintain our high performance while promoting new ideas, constantly looking for ways to improve our working practices.

About You
- You have a minimum of 5 GCSEs and a keen interest in Planning.
- You are a positive and motivated professional who will bring a strong work ethic and enthusiasm to the team
- You are a team player, who can contribute innovative ideas and be committed to achieving high quality results
- You hold a current driving licence and access to a vehicle to use for work
